Your Questions, Answered

Wondering if this is for you?

If you're living with a chronic condition and tired of doing it alone, you probably have questions. Here are honest answers to the ones we hear most.

What this actually is.

Is this medical treatment, therapy, or coaching?

It's none of those, exactly — it's education and support. Our groups are led by licensed clinicians, so you're in knowledgeable hands, but we don't diagnose, prescribe, or treat, and we're not a substitute for therapy or medical care.

Think of it as the missing middle: the place where what your doctors recommend gets turned into something you can actually live. You keep all of your own providers — we work alongside them, never in place of them.

You've likely tried a lot already. This isn't another thing to add to the pile — it's support for actually living what you're already learning.

The TENDing Method is a small, guided group where you learn about your body, try gentle changes, and move at your own pace alongside others who understand. Below, we've answered the questions that tend to come up before someone decides to join.

What actually happens in a session?

Each week your group meets online for a live session. There's a little teaching — about the nervous system, symptoms, and small things that help — and then time to reflect, share if you want to, and connect with others. You also get two private one-on-one calls of your own — a welcome call at the start and an integration call at the end. Between sessions, you try gentle experiments and notice what you learn. Nothing is graded. Nothing is forced. You take what serves you.

What's the difference between your two programs?

Same approach, tailored to who's in the room:

  • The TENDing Method is for adults living with complex or overlapping chronic conditions — persistent pain, fatigue, autoimmune illness, and more.

  • The Migraine Resilience Academy is the same method, shaped around migraine — triggers, thresholds, and the particular rhythms of living with it.

Not sure which fits? Just reach out — we'll help you find the right one.

Energy, pace & "what if I can't keep up"

What if I'm too sick or exhausted some weeks?

Then you come as you are — or you rest. This program was built by and for people who live with unpredictable energy. There is no penalty for a hard week, no catching up to stress about, no pressure to have your camera on or to speak. We record every session so you can catch up or rewatch as you like, knowing that it’s accessible whenever you like.

Showing up flat on your back and just listening counts. Missing a week and rejoining counts. We designed for the reality of chronic illness, not around it.

How much time and work does it ask of me?

We meet for one live 90-minute session a week, plus whatever small practice you choose to try between them — usually a few minutes, not hours. There's no heavy homework and no busywork. The "work" is mostly noticing, and you set the pace.

T W O W A Y S I N

Is it online, and do I need to be on camera?

It's fully online, so you can join from bed, the couch, wherever you're comfortable. Camera is always your choice. Many people start off just listening, and that's completely welcome.

You don't have to be "good at being sick" to belong here.

There's no version of you that's too tired, too skeptical, or too faralong to join. Come as you actually are.

Being in a group

I'm nervous about groups. Will I have to share personal things?

Never more than you want to. You're always welcome to simply listen. Some people speak up from week one; others stay quiet for a while and warm up slowly. Both are completely normal here.

Our groups are small and held with care, with clear agreements about respect and privacy so it feels safe to be yourself.

Will people understand what I'm going through, or will I have to explain myself?

That's the quiet gift of a group like this: you're surrounded by people who already get it. No proving you're really sick, no translating your experience for someone who's never lived it. For many participants, that recognition — finally, people who understand — is the part they didn't know they needed.

Cost and whether it’s worth it

What does it cost, and what’s included?

The six-week Foundations course is $797, and the four-week Expansion that continues from it is $517. Both include something we're proud of: alongside your group sessions, you get two private one-on-one calls with an expert facilitator — a welcome call at the start, so we truly get to know you and what you're hoping for, and an integration call at the end, to help you carry what you've learned forward.

That's the best of both worlds: the warmth and shared understanding of a small group, plus dedicated one-on-one time with someone who knows this deeply. It's self-pay and not billed through insurance. Current dates and enrollment are on each program's page.

How do I know it’s worth it for me?

That's a fair question, especially if you've spent money on things that didn't help. We won't promise a cure — anyone who does isn't being honest with you.

Here's one way to think about the value: booking even a few hours of one-on-one time with specialists in nervous-system health, chronic illness, and self-regulation would often cost as much or more — and you'd be doing it alone. This gives you weeks of expert-led learning curated for people who share your concerns, a community that stays with you, and two private calls of your own. Tools you keep for good, in the company of people who understand.

If you're still unsure, reach out and ask us. We'd rather help you find the right fit than sign you up for the wrong one.

How big are the groups?

Small by design — capped at 12 people — so there's room for everyone and it never feels like a crowd or a lecture hall. You'll actually get to know the others.

What if I join and it isn’t right for me?

Before you ever enroll, we have a short, no-pressure conversation to make sure the program actually fits where you are right now. If it's not the right time or the right thing, we'll tell you — and point you toward something that might serve you better. You can even join us for the first week of class. If you change your mind, you can get a full refund.
