Your body is trying to tell you something.
Let's learn to listen — together.
One-on-one and group coaching for people who want to go deeper into their own healing, build sustainable habits, and finally understand what their nervous system has been trying to say.
You've done the reading. Maybe even the programs.
Now you want someone in your corner.
Coaching at Body Luminary is for people who are ready to move from information to integration — who want support applying what they're learning to their actual lives, bodies, and circumstances.
This might be you if:
You completed TENDing Foundations and want to keep the momentum going
You're navigating burnout, chronic illness, or life transition and want a thinking partner
You're working on pacing, nervous system regulation, or habit change and keep hitting the same walls
You want someone who understands chronic illness — not just in theory, but from the inside
You're brand new here and want a personalized place to start before joining a program
This isn't advice-giving. It's deep listening with expertise behind it.
Coaching sessions with Drs. Brenna, Karen, and Michele are rooted in the Body Luminary philosophy: your body is intelligent, your nervous system is doing its best, and sustainable change happens through tending — not forcing.
Sessions may include:
Exploring what your nervous system has been communicating through symptoms, patterns, and responses
Identifying barriers to pacing, rest, and self-compassion
Mapping sustainable routines that work with your actual capacity — not a hypothetical version of you
Processing what's getting in the way of your healing: shame, grief, identity, relationships
Building body literacy skills specific to your situation
Our doctors bring a cumulative 50+ years of clinical expertise, lived experience with chronic illness, and trauma-informed coaching to every session. This is not generic wellness advice — it is whole-person support calibrated to you.
Ways to Work Together
This first hour is yours to breathe, be heard, and begin. We'll slow down together and take a real look at what's happening in your nervous system, your life, and your body right now. You'll share what brought you here — the exhaustion, the overwhelm, the sense that something needs to change — and we'll start mapping what healing could actually look like for you.
You'll leave with a clearer picture of where you are, what's keeping you stuck, and a few grounding tools you can use right away. No pressure, no performance — just an honest, supportive conversation and a first step toward feeling more like yourself.
This session is open to anyone curious about nervous system healing, whether you're brand new to this work or returning after time away.
This is where the ongoing work lives. Each TENDing Session builds on what we've discovered together — returning to the patterns, the places of tension, and the small victories that tell us your nervous system is learning something new. We'll check in with what's present for you right now, and then move into the practices, inquiry, and somatic awareness that are most alive for you in this moment.
Some sessions will feel quietly revelatory. Others will feel like maintenance — and that's not a lesser thing. Consistent, gentle tending is exactly how the nervous system builds new capacity. You don't have to come in with a crisis or a breakthrough. You just have to show up.
Sessions are available in 60- and 30-minute formats to meet you where you are in your schedule, your energy, and your healing process.
Four sessions over 6–8 weeks. Designed for people working through a specific challenge or transition — establishing a pacing plan, navigating a flare, returning to work, adjusting to a new diagnosis, or building a sustainable daily practice. We make a plan together and tend it across multiple sessions.
Eight sessions over 3–4 months. For people ready for sustained, meaningful change — working through complex layers of burnout, illness, trauma, identity, or life restructuring. This is the container for real transformation. We'll set clear intentions, track your progress, and adapt as you evolve.
Payment plans available for packages. No one is turned away for financial reasons — reach out to discuss sliding scale options.
Meet Your Coaches
Dr. Michele Renee, DC, MAc
Founder & Somatic Guide
Dr. Karen Lawson, MD, DABIHM, NBC-HWC
Health Empowerment Specialist & Behavior Change Expert
Dr. Brenna Erickson, DC
Nervous System Specialist & Co-Developer of the TENDing Method
Michele spent two decades as a clinician, professor, and integrative care director — teaching practitioners how bodies heal, writing curriculum, running a clinic. She went 100 miles an hour and didn't stop until Long COVID made her stop completely.
What she built from that collapse — the TENDing Method, and eventually Body Luminary — came from having to apply everything she knew to her own body, and then go further. She knows what it's like to be the person who understands the science and still can't get off the couch.
She knows the gap between knowing and actually listening.
In coaching, Michele brings that integration: rigorous clinical training, 20+ years of treating complex chronic illness, and the embodied wisdom of someone who has navigated her own body's collapse and rebuilding. She will meet you where you actually are — not where a protocol assumes you should be.
Karen spent years watching a frustrating pattern repeat itself in clinical settings: people wanted to change, worked with skilled practitioners, and still didn't. Not because of weakness or lack of effort — but because wanting and doing are governed by entirely different systems in the nervous system and brain.
That observation sent her on a decades-long pursuit of what actually creates sustainable transformation. She found it in integrative health coaching, then helped build the field — developing the first academic graduate program in integrative health and wellness coaching at the University of Minnesota, co-founding the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching, and bringing board certification in integrative and holistic medicine alongside 20+ years of clinical practice.
In coaching, Karen specializes in the space between knowing what you need and actually being able to do it. If you keep hitting the same walls — with rest, with pacing, with self-care, with change — she understands why, and she knows how to help you move differently.
Brenna grew up in a household where whole-person care was simply how you approached health.
That early foundation led her toward a career at the intersection of neurological precision and gentle, body-centered care — and eventually to becoming the only Directional Non-Force Technique chiropractor in Minnesota, known to her patients as the Migraine Whisperer.
Her specialty is the nervous system: understanding why it became dysregulated, and working with the body — rather than against it — to restore regulation. She holds additional training in Functional Medicine, CranioSacral Therapy, and Applied Neuroscience, and co-developed the TENDing Method alongside Michele.
In coaching, Brenna brings the neurological depth that helps you understand what's actually happening in your body — not just what to do about it, but why your system responds the way it does. For people who have been told their symptoms don't make sense, her perspective is often the first time things finally do.
Looking for group support?

TENDing Foundations is the right fit if you're navigating chronic health challenges, all the way from migraine to IBS to chronic pain to Long COVID, ME/CFS, chronic Lyme, and want both education and community alongside coaching.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Coaching is open to anyone — whether you're brand new to Body Luminary or a TENDing graduate looking for continued support. If you're new, the first session often functions as an orientation to the Body Luminary approach while addressing your specific situation.
-
That's completely understood here. Sessions are 30 minutes specifically because we know that is often the realistic window for people navigating illness or exhaustion. If you need to reschedule, you can do so with 24 hours' notice. Package sessions don't expire on a rigid timeline — we build in flexibility.
-
No. Coaching is not therapy and is not a substitute for mental health treatment. That said, coaching at Body Luminary is trauma-informed and whole-person in its approach — we don't avoid the emotional terrain if it's relevant. If it becomes clear that therapeutic support would serve you better, your coach will say so and can offer referrals.

TENDing Foundations is a structured group learning program — curriculum, community, and education over six weeks. Coaching is individualized: we work on what matters most to you, at your pace, in your own context. Many people do both — the program for the framework and community, coaching for the personalized application.
